Korea intended to steal Chinese Feng Shui art to list under its name at UNESCO.

What is Feng Shui?
Feng Shui is a deep knowledge and can't be easily understood. Put it simply, it is said Feng Shui which the wisdom of people who live in the nature and accumulated scientifically philosophically, and systematized for the purpose of fortune telling and to get better luck. In the world of Feng Shui, all things exist in the form of Qi, a kind of unseen energy.
It is advising directions, date, actions, meals, colors and etc, to protect the body from suffering bad Qi. and adpoting the Good Qi. In Feng Shui, a meal and healthy life area unseparable so as the chinese proverb said "Medicine and food are from same origin". In chinese culture, Feng Shui has become the part of their culture, such as choosing the Good date for marriage, lucky date for opening an business, and etc.

The Origins of Feng Shui
During the Zhou Dynasty (from 11th century BC to 256 BC), the fortune of a dwelling was determined by "Zhai Bu" divination. "Zhai Bu used to determine the auspiciousness of a grave site, if there is an underground spring below burial site detected by Zhai Bu, then the said site is not a suitable site. This practice has became the embryonic form of Feng Shui.
I Ching has became very popular during the Warring States period (475 - 221 BC), Chinese cosmology and philosophy like Confucianism, Daoism, the theories of Yin and Yang, the Five Elements (Wu Xing) and the Ba Gua etc. There appared written records of Feng Shui consultations during the time of Han dynasty (206-220 AD), the study of Feng Shui during this time was initially linked with the study of I Ching. Feng Shui and I Ching has reached its popularity and peak during the Han dynasty.
The word "Feng Shui" has first seen during the Jin dynasty. Guo Pu, who lived from 276-324 AD, wrote a book "Zhang Shu" or the book of Burial, according to the book, "the dead should take advantage of the Sheng Qi, the wind will disperse the qi and the water will contain it. The ancients said that one should try to gather the qi so that it will not disperse. The aim is to keep it flowing but contained. Hence it is called "Feng Shui".

China and South Korea joust over Fengshui art

Guangzhou-based New Express reported that South Korea kicked off preparation work for the application back in 2003 and has made every effort to ensure its readiness before 2008.
South Korea succeeded in adding the Dragon Boat Festival, a celebration used to commemorate Qu Yuan, a Chinese patriot in olden times, onto the World Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2005. This sparked heated controversy between the two nations and raised Chinese awareness of protecting their own cultural legacies.
The Koreans are likely to win again, the report said. Nothing has hinted that the application will fail as the process is backed by all Korean nationals, from the country's president to the UN general-secretary.
Contrary to South Korea's zeal for applying fengshui, China has long shown indifference towards the art handed down from its ancestors. The art of fengshui failed to be mentioned in the shortlist, which includes 35 cultural arts, that China has drawn up in preparation for next years World Intangible Cultural Heritage nomination procedure.
In contrast to the lack of concern shown by the authorities, Chinese civilians are displaying a united resolution and determination to fend off this "cultural robbery". One netizen blames Korea, arguing that the art form of fengshui originated in China long ago and only later spread to Korea during the Ming Dynasty.
Apart from angry internet users, many people call for the support of the government, who still deem the art as a superstitious method to judge good or ill luck and refuse to issue official certificates to those engaged in the fengshui industry.
Chinese people used to intently study fengshui theories before beginning constructions work, believing a building constructed in line with the theories would bring them great luck and prosperity.
